On a bright September morning, Shane, Kendra, and Ewa from Impact Investors joined our partners at Dirt Capital for a visit to Sella Ranch, a 353-acre property in Castroville, California that’s poised to become a model for regenerative farmland access.
Walking the fields and hearing from the project team, the group saw firsthand how this initiative is building on the success of Dirt Capital’s Rancho Corralitos project in nearby Watsonville. Like its predecessor, Sella Ranch aims to do more than grow crops — it’s cultivating opportunity. The project will transition land from conventional to organic production, creating pathways for historically excluded farmers to not just lease land, but ultimately own it.
Beyond its agricultural promise, Sella Ranch holds deep environmental value. In partnership with the Elkhorn Slough Foundation and The Conservation Fund, a conservation easement will protect 60–70 acres of wetlands and riparian habitat — vital ecosystems that sustain California’s coastal biodiversity.
This visit was more than a tour; it was a glimpse into what’s possible when investors, conservationists, and communities work together. Sella Ranch represents a future where farmland access, ecological stewardship, and local opportunity can thrive side by side.
